Welcome to Room 3 For Term 4 2011
We have a great year ahead and I look forward to a year of fantastic learning.
Room 3 is a fantastic room. We have 27 children and we have a passion for learning and developing our thinking skills and self management.
This term there are some exciting activities planned. Our big question this term is “Is there anything left”? It is a Technology topic with a science theme.
Context
We have a focus on Salt and Salt production and the importance of salt to us and other cultures. We will be growing salt crystals and doing some experiments to help us understand more about salt.
PE
For PE, we will be focusing on Athletics. We will be having our Senior Athletics day. Hopefully you will be able to join us on the day. This term we will be practicing running, throwing and jumping.
Visual Arts
For Visual Art, we are using crayon to create an explosion of colour. We will also be looking at how other cultures share through art and colour and looking at the Latin American festival of the Day of the Dead.
English
This term we will focus on plays. We will be writing our own and reading a selection of plays. We will look at presenting a play and some acting techniques.
Maths and Numeracy
This term in Numeracy we will focus on Addition, Subtraction and Algebra. We will be looking at Statistics as well as Geometry. We will cover the topics of Position, Reflection, Rotation and Translation
Spellathon
SPELLATHON
This term we are having a Spellathon, each child will come home with a spelling list. Please help your child to learn these words. We are hoping to raise $10,000. There are also prizes to be won. Thanks your help with this matter.

Tickets go on sale from Monday 31st of October and will sell fast. Gold Class seats are $20 and you will be placed in the front 2 rows for great views. Other tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.
