Ngahere Friday Flickouts

Our Ngahere team consists of six teachers across two large learning environments. In Ngahere, our ākonga (learners) work collaboratively (mahi tahi) with each other and their teachers.

We enjoy being a collaborative team who work and share our teaching strengths to engage and promote our learners to be creative, forward thinking, self-driven learners. Our learners participate in workshops with the teachers and work on self-guided contract work in Maths, Reading and Writing. They are learning to work collaboratively and help each other out when needed, as well as working on their own tasks independently.

Our ākonga play an active part in their learning, working towards being truly agentic learners and developing this through the Bump@r learner capabilities. This enables them to take charge of their own learning, and have fun doing so!  Ākonga are encouraged to explore their passions and learn new skills through an integrated curriculum that includes literacy, numeracy, Project Based Learning (PBL) and What’s your jam?

Our aim is to build confident, independent ākonga that ‘think together’, ‘do together’ and ‘discover together’ in preparation for the next stage of their learning journey.
